With more than 20 years of procurement operations, sourcing, and strategy experience across multiple global organizations, Jon leads our Procurement Solutions product line at AGS. Within this role, Jon is responsible for all facets of evolving this product offering including strategy, structure and people, all while working to ensure that what we deliver is driving increasing and sustainable value for our clients.

Michael’s career at CME Group has been driven by negotiating strong contracts aligning to the corporate objectives of the enterprise. In his current role he is accountable for the procurement of all service and contract engagements at CME Group. Michael manages a 10-member team that manages the procurement across a diverse portfolio of categories (software, software as a service, real estate, facilities, maintenance, professional services, remote outsourcing, training and travel). Michael attended University of Michigan majoring in economics.

Joe Pennell is a partner in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown’s Technology Transactions and Corporate & Securities practices. Joe focuses his practice on information technology and managed services transactions, including cloud computing, software licensing and implementation, and the outsourcing of finance and accounting services, IT infrastructure services and support, managed network services, and application development and maintenance. He is the Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Science and Technology Law’s Cloud Computing Committee.

Brad Peterson is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office. He leads the Technology Transactions practice.
Lauded by clients as “astonishingly talented” (Chambers USA 2010), Brad has focused his practice for 20 years on helping companies work better with their technology and operations suppliers. In outsourcing, he has represented customers in dozens of large managed services agreements with, cumulatively, over $15 billion in contract value. In the past five years, he has represented clients in increasing numbers of contracts with digital services providers, including cloud, data analytics, “as a Service” and automated process scopes and cyber security and privacy issues related to those scopes. He also has extensive experience representing companies’ licensing enterprise systems and contracting for systems integration and systems development for those systems. He benefits in this practice from majoring in Computer Studies as an undergraduate, receiving an MBA from the University of Chicago, and working as a software developer and IBM Marketing Representative for years before attending Harvard Law School.

The Future of Outsourcing
The future of outsourcing is digital and includes transformative tools such as Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things. Outsourcing providers will increasingly use digital systems to offer faster, smarter, better and cheaper services. Functions currently performed by people will increasingly be automated. Outsourcing contracts built on the traditional assumption that the services are provided by people supported by tools will be fundamentally changed to reflect that the services are provided by digital tools supported by people.
