Sourcing Playbook Project

The Sourcing Playbook is a set of flexible, standardized templates with accompanying training for certain critical deliverables within the FedEx Sourcing Methodology. Prior to the Playbook, critical deliverables such as TCO, negotiation strategy and implementation plan lacked a common format or training/guidance. This led to inconsistent application across manager teams and inefficiency and rework in the sourcing process. In just eight weeks, this intern-led project resulted in a Sourcing Playbook of best-in-class templates and training to provide the sourcing team with a solid foundation of core processes while delivering a more consistent overall experience to business stakeholders. It has resulted in improved quality and consistency within the sourcing process and universally positive feedback from our team of nearly 70 category managers.
