The Truth about the Three R’s of Outsourcing: Repatriate, Re-compete, or Renegotiate?

Alsbridge recently met with the COO of a California-based bank as part of an application strategy engagement. At the end of the conversation, the COO asked if we could supply him with data on the number of contracts where the client repatriated all the services, because the bank was seriously considering terminating a BPO contract and repatriating all the services. After asking several fellow consultants and researching the question, Alsbridge found little or no useful data that would provide a fact-based hint at the answer, much less something that was directionally correct.
