POSITION SUMMARY

The individual in this position is responsible for coordinating the planning functions for main equipment, accessories, and repair parts from all sources. Works with SSI marketing and service managers to ensure timely product availability due to normal market demands.

The individual will be required to analyze trend data within an MRP system, identify and mitigate items of concern, build order plans, and release all planned orders to the tactical buyer.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing MRP data and trends. (daily)
  • Analyze and maintain forecast for all domestic and international planning for stocked items
  • Responsible for maintaining forecast of service items
  • Daily Coordination with many cross functional teams (Purchasing Supervisor, Buyer, Expeditor, Warehouse, Import/Export, Sales and Service, Marketing etc).
  • Assist in making the instrumentation forecasting
  • Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing regarding New Product Release Planning
  • Load forecast data into MRP and perform order scheduling and related reporting
  • Provide buyer with direction - vendor / PN / Qty
  • Item Master maintenance. (daily)
  • Liaison between Purchasing and Shipping to work out issues regarding allocation
  • Assist Material Management with efficient scheduling of orders
  • Provide reports as required. (weekly)

SCOPE:

This position’s primary focus is to maintain sufficient inventory levels that will meet company service to customers while minimizing cost.

PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent is required to exercise independent judgment in routine matters governed by procedures and established policies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with four (4) years of experience in purchasing/inventory planning, or the equivalent combination.
