The Path to Cognitive Outsourcing Starts with Absolute and Factual Data

There's no way around it. The move to cognitive procurement from traditional procurement relies on the establishment of good, quality data. Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) cannot codify their intelligence successfully if the data it is fed is bias or wrong. The resulting process improvements, problem solving, decision making, and actions from AI/ML would be flawed and, not cognitive at all. Data enables transparency and unbiasedness. Suppling any cognitive solution, whether it be AI/ML, the right data can allow procurement, and sourcing, to add value and broaden their scope to help the business achieve its goals. Procurement and sourcing can become strategic players in the organization.
