Innovative Labor Procurement: Blending a Contingent and Contract Workforce

In this session, the presenters discussed an innovative way to blend contracted services and contingent labor to create a win-win-win condition for business managers, procurement and contract workers. The contingent model is great but when business managers spend too much time recruiting, on-boarding and training non-employee workers they cannot do their jobs, which leads to problems such as not meeting production output, missing schedules, lower quality and unhappy customers. Contracted services provide reliable quality output but require advanced planning and time to ramp up and down.
