Major Objectives
The Head of GO Procurement Transformation & Operations will be in charge of leading the transformation of the GO Procurement function. Its goal is to accelerate the increase of the function maturity in collaboration with all our GO procurement teams, steer simplification and cost efficiency within the function operations, and enable unlocking value in the existing relationships with suppliers.
He/She will do this by challenging our existing ways of working, collaborating with communities of stakeholders, and driving change and pace of change. The Head of Procurement Transformation & Operations is responsible for driving the transformation and professionalization of the Procurement function in AXA focusing on the management transversal transformation projects across all GO procurement.
Main activities
The Head of GO Performance & Operations will manage a team of 5 direct reports across a total of 15 on-shore team members, delivering activities in 5 principal areas (10x Proc Ops & Cat Management, 1x Vendor Risk, 1x P2P, 1x Audit, Outsourcing & Controls, 1x Governance and Projects) and 26 off-shore team members based in India.
The key strategic transversal common factor is to drive a transformation agenda ensuring simplification, effectiveness, and transversality by balancing the development of procurement capabilities in conjunction with different key stakeholders (GO Senior executives and Procurement ELT). This multi-faceted approach is a foundationary principle of the team and should be a key behaviour trait in all strategic and operational activities. She/He oversees building an efficient team by continuously developing team members with an agreed progression plan and talent management profile.
· 1 - Procurement Processes and TOM for GO for AXA GO
o Drive the set-up of the function (design & implementation of the new organization, including the merge of different teams, Procurement operating model design & evolution) and the design and evolution of the GO Procurement Operating Model
o Manage GO budget and efficiency plan and optimise spend to support wider strategic initiatives
o Continuously seek to identify and improve procurement processes for GO, sharing any developments with wider Group and Entity colleagues to support the delivery of best practice within the procurement community
o Ensure continuous sourcing and contracting processes with key drivers: simplification and risk assessment according to operational activities especially regarding P2P process with Finance and lead activities of the PPOP team in Morocco (vendor creation, PR/PO creation, user support etc.) in connection with the AXA procurement tool strategy
· 2 - Vendor risks, compliance management and controls for AXA GO
o Work with Sourcing Business Partners within GO to discuss products and categories, supporting category reviews and Key Vendor management
o Connect AXA GO VRF (Vendor Risk Framework) to the overall work and transformation on Group VRF and ensure this topic is effectively delivered within the agreed timeframe
o Be accountable for the vendor risk governance in Group Operations (vendor risk committee management and escalation where necessary)
o Ensure Vendor Risk assessments are run according to potential operational risks and ensure proper discussion with first line (business) is organized to accept business risk / appetite.
o Run, and improve procurement internal controls within AXA Group Operations
o Own the outsourcing Solvency II policy and associated reporting and governance for GO and ensure both market and business needs are anticipated for proper coverage.
· 3 Procurement fulfilment within AXA GO
o Lead a team of 10x procurement professionals, providing direction and guidance towards meeting targets and strategic objectives
o Execute procurement actions for the segment in scope (as per triage)
o Ensure the relevant category market trends and resulting strategies are understood by the team; give feedback to categories and help adjust if strategy is not fit for purpose, ensuring they align with the company's overall objectives
o Use market and industry intel to drive competitive bids and contract negotiations with suppliers
o Ensure timely and accurate delivery of procurement services to GO internal clients
o Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, mobilizing the relevant Key vendor manager, to ensure quality of goods and services, cost efficiency and minimize supply chain risk
· 4 – GO Procurement Tools & Operations
o At GO, support deployment of global procurement tools & analytics to increase efficiency & compliance and to enable data driven decisions. This includes the tools strategy and leveraging innovation down to the management of the tools BAU team
o Support/Steer to procurement operations executive manager in the build (and run) mode to create an effective and efficient team to run tactical GO procurement events (tactical meaning non “high complexity")
· 5 – Drive sustainability strategy for Procurement in GO
o Drive the development of the procurement sustainability strategy in conjunction with Group, and drive its enforcement, with a specific focus on Carbon and D&I
o Secure compliance to relevant regulations and operate / monitor implementation of policies / guidelines as well as management of partners like EcoVadis for GO
· 6 - Transversal projects within AXA GO
o Drive initiatives (transversal projects or workstreams within a specific taskforce/program) involving the full procurement team, in close collaboration with Group Procurement Head of Transformation where appropriate. Ensure proper engagement and delivery of Procurement team / Procurement ELT and keep other stakeholders connected from other divisions at Executive level.
o Ensure Procurement representation in key committees. Drive the design and evolution of the GO Procurement Operating Model (incl. onshore / offshore operating model in close collaboration with Procurement ELT). Identify and progress a short-, medium- and long-term version for the Operating Model that supports delivery of operational needs both now and in the future.

Experienced in IT transformation using/deploying tools (ERP, …)

Experience in running international governance bodies, initiatives and communities.
Procurement and IT acumen to drive tools & analytics, including understanding of innovation opportunities and their application.
