Being Schooled in Procurement: Ancillary Purchasing Technologies and Analytics across the University of California

The 10-campus University of California (UC) was challenged to save $200 million annually within five years as part of the "Working Smarter" initiative. This included acquiring ancillary purchasing applications and analytics to supplement existing systems and processes, and implementing them across ten largely decentralized campuses moving to a center-led operating model. In addition to providing a background on UC and the $200 million challenge, this presentation will cover successes, challenges and timelines specifically involved at UCLA.
